To counter the argument about no one caring about Jack Swagger, consider the cases of The Miz and Dolph Ziggler, both of whom have gone through long phases where they lose a lot and fans seem to not care about them anymore.

Miz has rebuilt himself during the past six months after winning the Intercontinental Championship and having his smoking hot wife Maryse by his side. He’s gone from a goof to a credible IC champ and annoying Hollywood type. Ziggler was seeing his career flag further after losing a feud to Baron Corbin and was in desperate need of a reboot. After losing to Miz a couple times, the two engaged in a war of words that built and built until Dolph put his career on the line.

The result was an Intercontinental Championship versus career match at No Mercy that sucked in the fans and had the crowd reacting to every pinfall attempt. Even with an overbooked ending, it still worked quite well. Now, what WWE does next could reduce the impact of this feud, but this was a high point on Sunday. Kudos all around.
