The only thing shook is our confidence in these writers.

The WWE Superstar Shakeup. The annual post-WrestleMania tradition where wrestlers trade brands as the company tries to freshen up matchups and rivalries on both shows.

It also could be interpreted as WWE’s effort to mask poor writing by using new matchups to pop a rating here and there for a few months, until things settle back into the usual malaise. Regardless, this week’s shakeup was off to an interesting start, as NXT callups were locked down to a brand and several SmackDown wrestlers made the trek over to Mondays.

But all the activity could not save a week, uneven and at times infuriating Monday Night Raw. Whether it was Shane McMahon being himself, or the writers’ stupidity coming to the forefront, it was tough to enjoy Raw.

We did see some Raw debuts, and those are noteworthy, but WWE dug itself a hole in the first half-hour that it couldn’t crawl out of, even with a solid surprise shakeup to close the show.

It’s a shame the Superstar Shakeup can’t apply to the writing staff and all the Raw writers are traded to Legends’ House and the NXT writers come up to Raw. That would go a lot further than Eric Young, Naomi and the Usos moving to the red brand.

With that said, let’s get to it…
