6 Ups And Downs For Last Night's WWE Raw (March 2nd)

6. Is Orton Plotting? Or Just Lost?

Maybe this is crazy, but most people would say that if someone stomped their head in, knocking them out of work for several months, the last thing they would do is team right back up with that person. In Randy Orton€™s case, it should have made him even more unhinged, not a calm soldier. While it€™s pretty obvious in reading between the lines that he is setting Seth Rollins up, there is a fear that WWE will screw this up somehow. Orton should be luring Rollins and the rest of the Authority in to a false sense of security, and that€™s certainly how it appears. By now, however, there needs to be more than a wink to the fans in view of the camera (which happened after Orton helped Rollins win the main event) to show that this is a thinking man€™s plot. Not everything needs to be out of the blue. Think to how Batista overheard Flair and Triple H talking about him before he made his decision of who to face at WrestleMania XXI. It€™s OK to let fans in on the secret. Otherwise, it could look like Orton was lost for a time and came to his senses after a few weeks of perceived slights. This could still be a good trap to spring, but it needs to be done right.
