God bless Dean Ambrose for trying to make it work, but sometimes you cant polish up a turd. The psych evaluation skits have been done before to varying degrees of success (Daniel Bryans goat-face one springs to mind), but they really only serve to entertain the writers and Vince. Ambrose is so good that he actually makes it entertaining for a bit (Thursday!), but the situation is played for laughs rather than portraying Ambrose as legitimately unhinged. Then in his match against Rusev, the referee stops the bout because of Ambroses injured knee. Ref stoppages can work from time to time, but after Ambrose has been in a Hell in a Cell match, a TLC match and an ambulance match, a normal one-on-one match is too much? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JO_LcNl6nxo Ambrose is still (amazingly) extremely popular with fans, but he needs to notch some wins under his belt, or he runs the risk of becoming Kofi Kingston really popular wrestler who fans love but dont buy as able to win big matches.
Scott is a former journalist and longtime wrestling fan who was smart enough to abandon WCW during the Monday Night Wars the same time as the Radicalz. He fortunately became a fan in time for WrestleMania III and came back as a fan after a long high school hiatus before WM XIV. Monday nights in the Carlson household are reserved for viewing Raw -- for better or worse.
