In our previous entry detailing the potential for a British/European stable in WWE, we purposely left out the recently signed Finn Balor, who was formerly known as Prince Devitt during his many successful years on the independent scene. Balor is an Irishman like Sheamus, and he made his NXT television debut in September. We didn't include him in our proposed British stable for two reasons, the first being that he hasn't been in WWE very long and will likely have to prove himself to the higher-ups by working in NXT for a year or so, potentially more. The second reason is that his debut on the main roster could be tied to Sheamus in interesting ways and on a more one on one basis. Balor was one of the shining lights of New Japan Pro Wrestling for eight years before he signed with WWE, so he is no newcomer to the industry by any means. At 33 years old, he is already a veteran, having made his professional debut in 2000 at the age of 18. Therefore, it really shouldn't take longer than a year for him to adapt to the famous 'WWE style' and be promoted to the main roster, and we think it should be either as a protege of Sheamus or as a new adversary. Sheamus taking Balor under his wing would be a neat way to introduce him to the WWE audience and he would benefit from the association with an established superstar, but it could also be a revitalising agent for Sheamus. Likewise, it could work even better if Balor was positioned as a hungry young upstart who chooses to go after his fellow countryman in order to make an early statement in his WWE career. Whichever way WWE choose to go, it would be surprising if Sheamus and Balor weren't linked in some way whenever he makes it to Monday Night Raw and Friday Night Smackdown. Are there any other ways for Sheamus to kickstart his flagging career? Let us know in the comments section below!
