1. Bring In The Empress
Asuka has nothing left to prove in NXT. She is the longest reigning Women’s Champion of all-time, having smashed Paige’s old record months ago, and is already regarded as one of the best wrestlers in the company. Her popularity is through the roof too, and when she eventually drops the gold, there’s absolutely no need to keep her stuck at Full Sail University any longer.
She’ll still be champion by the time Money In The Bank comes around, but that shouldn’t exclude Asuka from the match. Kevin Owens held onto the NXT Championship for several months after joining the main roster, which gives precedent for ‘The Empress Of Tomorrow’ to do the same.
Having her appear as a mystery entrant would be a great surprise, and get the audience into the match straight away. After almost two years of complete dominance in NXT, there’s no doubting her credibility as a winner either, and victory would establish her as a major SmackDown star from day one.
The idea of Asuka constantly teasing cash-ins by haunting a vulnerable Women’s Champion week after week is equal parts terrifying and awesome. Booking her victory is the most exciting thing the writers could do on 18 June.
