6 Winners And 4 Losers From The New Japan Cup
3. Loser: YOSHI-HASHI
The Japanese wrestling world wants to feel good for YOSHI-HASHI but he does not make it easy for him. He may have endeared himself with his resilient "Get back up" attitude that he's adopted after years of constantly being the bridesmaid. He may have been in the G1 Climax, but was never expected to win. He may have challenged for top titles, but he always looked like a filler defense.
Still though, YOSHI-HASHI remains resilient, always eager to try his hardest, no matter what his track record may say about him.
At this point, with the losses continuing to pile on, it's starting to look sad. He showed promise with wins over Tenzan and BUSHI, not necessarily quality with Tenzan having long abandoned his best days, and BUSHI being the weakest link in LIJ's chain, but still wins are wins.
After sustaining a knee injury, YOSHI-HASHI looked like a total chump against an absolutely viscous EVIL, and any momentum that he could have had went right back to zero. While him losing to EVIL was a forgone conclusion, his injury turned what could have been a compelling match into a squash.
With time though, YOSHI-HASHI will surely heal again, and when he does come back, he'll be more than ready to eat another pin.
