5. The New Day Have To Wait For Another Day
Though generally reliable, the logic of "they're on the poster so ought to win" doesn't apply here. The New Day are following in the theme of SmackDown tag teams appearing out of nowhere on PPVs, and though a championship victory on their 'much anticipated' first night on the blue brand isn't against WWE's MO (see: The Hardy Boyz), it isn't the most sensible idea for Tuesday's tag-title scene.
It wouldn't be unreasonable for a trio which recorded the longest tag title reign in WWE history to parachute in and claim the straps immediately, but in addition to undermining the entire division, it'd also leave the babyfaces with absolutely no where to go. Does the company want to kick off another protracted reign given the Raw equivalent grew so dreadfully stale? The predictable tediousness of it all would have fans whinging right away. Likewise, playing a game of pass-the-parcel with the belts benefits nobody.
Rather, The New Day will come close, but lose thanks to something decidedly dastardly from the sinister Samoans. Then, like 5pm weekdays on ITV, the chase will be on.
