This is a match where it's easy to get excited because it's the first time Zayn will face Owens in a WWE ring and it's for the NXT Title. They've wrestled dozens (maybe hundreds) of times in their careers in other places when it was El Generico vs. Kevin Steen, but now it's for the biggest wrestling company in the world. The video package for this feud was amazing. It does a fantastic job of summarizing their history by showing that they were best friends that grew up in the wrestling business together and that Owens is doing what he has to do in order to provide for his family. Part of the reason Owens is mad is because Zayn got called to WWE first, so that's why he attacked Zayn when he did. http://youtu.be/XBgbI35memU Owens debuted in WWE exactly two months before this match on February 11. It's rare to see somebody get a NXT Title match only two months after their debut, but Owens deserves it. He's not going to be in NXT too long. He's an all around talent that will have a huge impact in WWE and it's only a matter of time until he gets to be on the bigger stage. Their contract signing a few weeks ago was excellent. Owens said he wouldn't sign the contract unless it was for the NXT Title because he wanted the gold. Zayn said he wanted it to be a Championship match to prove he was better than his buddy Owens. NXT GM William Regal changed it, then they both signed it and the match was set. It's a tough match to predict. If Zayn loses the title then he can go on to the main roster full time where he should be. It also means his title run sucked because it only lasted two months. However, Owens winning could lead to a rematch where they have a "Loser Leaves NXT" type match that could lead to one of them on the main roster full time, which makes sense. It should be noted that Zayn will be flying back to Abu Dhabi on Thursday for WWE shows there, so he won't be at the tapings on Thursday where they will tape four episodes. That could be nothing, though. They can just do an injury angle like they did two months ago. This should be an outstanding match that gets between 15-20 minutes with a lot of intensity. If this was the main roster then a DQ finish makes sense, but in NXT they don't do that too often. Owens is the pick although it's definitely a tough match to call. That's what makes NXT so great too. Unpredictability is a good thing. Winner: Kevin Owens NXT Takeover: Rival airs this Wednesday at 8pmET on WWE Network. It should be awesome. Check it out.
