6 WWE TLC Statistics You Need To Know
3. A Champion’s Edge(?)
Sunday’s TLC match is a rarity in that no titles are on the line. The vast majority of WWE TLC bouts have been contested over a championship.
Of the 18 TLC matches in WWE history, 16 have involved a championship. Of that, one was for a vacant World Heavyweight Championship and one unified the two world titles in 2013.
In five of those remaining 14 matches, the challenger has emerged victorious, becoming champion. So had a title been on the line here, the champ(s) would have the odds in their favor.
There will be no title switches this year. The only other non-title TLC matches? The 2012 bout featuring the Shield versus Team Hell No and Ryback, and Dean Ambrose versus Bray Wyatt in 2014.
