7 Awesome Wrestling Podcasts You Can't Believe Got Axed
6. We The People - Jesse Ventura
Not to be confused with Zeb Colter or Jack Swagger, We The People was a podcast hosted by Vietnam vet, wrestling legend, movie star and Governor of Minnesota, Jesse 'The Body' Ventura.
The controversial commentator has been somewhat of a polarising figure in the US since his legal wranglings with the late Chris Kyle. Nevertheless, for wrestling fans, hearing road stories from his time as 'The Body' is always a fun trip down memory lane. It was a fundamental part of his short-lived podcast.
Running from July 2014 until March 2015, much of it was dedicated to political subjects and topics of world and national news. While his fearless approach to controversial topics and conspiracies made his outspoken comments consistently interesting, the best parts always centred around his foray into wrestling territory, and there were several episodes entirely dedicated to his wrestling years.
The most notable of these were his episodes with Chris Jericho and 'Rowdy' Roddy Piper, while Bill Goldberg was also a guest on the show at one point. Meanwhile, Jesse has a very distinct voice that is inherently easy to listen to - and his time in the announce booth made him a natural convert to the podcast world, much like Jim Ross and Tony Schiavone have also discovered.
