7 Biggest Winners From WWE Live MSG
Predictable night but plenty of in-ring fun.
WWE's most recent live special has come and gone from the historic Madison Square Garden venue in New York City. The show streamed live for WWE Network subscribers and boasted an in-ring confrontation between Brock Lesnar and The Big Show. Also, there was a headlining cage match for the United States Championship between John Cena and Seth Rollins that could easily be counted as a four star bout.
Like previous specials, this event was very wrestling heavy - although there were a few backstage promos this time around. The focus of this two hour show was the action in the ring and there was a good bit of it. Seven bouts were contested with three championships on the line. No titles changed hands, but there were plenty of challengers including The Dudley Boyz that could still consider themselves winners after this night.
Sure, Bubba Ray and Devon would've liked to have won the belts. But after what they did with Xavier Woods and a table, they can walk away at least a little satisfied. The events from their match should feed into the next pay-per-view, Hell in a Cell. Several other storylines were furthered.
Including The Dudleyz, there were 7 total wrestlers and teams that can be counted as winners from this event in the Garden. Let's get to them...
7. Randy Orton & Dolph Ziggler
This was a very smart way to start out the show. WWE took two singles matches the didn't have much excitement at all to them and combined them into a tag team match instead. Good call.
The Garden was especially hot for this opener as evidenced by the eruption when Randy Orton finally got the hot tag. The ending sequence came off of a missed Brogue kick by Sheamus. He stepped into a Super Kick from Dolph Ziggler followed by an RKO by Orton.
After the match, Rusev started mouthing off to Sheamus. He eventually ate a Brogue kick from the Irishman. Sheamus still walked out of this match with a little positive momentum, but Orton and Ziggler were definitely the winners.
