SummerSlam is shaping up to be an interesting card, all things considered. But it seems like there are quite a few things left up the sleeve of good old Vince after this week. After the reveal of Goldberg and Trish Stratus being added to the card, it seems WWE is looking for some shock value by bringing in big names.

And with other storylines like Daniel Bryan’s announcement and Roman Reigns’ attacker still up in the air, we could still have some surprises left for the trip up north of the border. After all, this is one of WWE’s big four for 2019, and Q2 was not the kindest to them numbers wise; almost all of them were down.

Something big might be warranted to try to boost ratings for Raw and SmackDown. And subsequently, the subscribers of WWE network as well.

Kicking off Q3 with a huge show filled with some twists and turns, and some surprise guests, seems like a good move to make. And with the competition having a big show of their own at the end of the month, the competitive nature of Vince might shine through, and he might - might - bloody up the blood and guts promotion.

He isn’t going to want to lose the title of the biggest event of the summer to AEW: Vince may be ready to fire a warning shot to kick off the war.

7. Roman Reigns’ Attacker Revealed

This may seem like a guarantee after the angles on both Raw and SmackDown this week, but without a reveal there is a lot of meat left on the bone; the surprise will come in the reveal and its aftermath.

We ended SmackDown this week with Buddy Murphy being interrogated by Roman. And after some bad cop style convincing, Murphy was forced to say that Rowan was the man he saw...

...and then we cut to Rowan and Daniel Bryan in the ring without much of a reaction to reveal anything. A bit anticlimactic, but it does build a bit more hype for Sunday.

It could be that Bryan’s big announcement coincides with Roman not having a SummerSlam opponent. Or maybe Rowan has gone rogue to try to step out of other wrestlers’ shadows, leading to a split of the recycling buddies.

This could hopefully lead to an additional match on Sunday, but at the least could build to a good post-SummerSlam feud. Or it could lead to an even more outlandish candidate, because they do need more viewers for Raw and SmackDown lately. This could still leave open a Bryan or Rowan versus Roman match for SummerSlam, leading to them pulling the Shaggy and saying it wasn’t them leaving a reveal on the table.

Either way, this storyline will hopefully be an entertaining part of the WWE’s trip to Toronto - maybe even beyond just Sunday.
