7 Biggest WWE SummerSlam 2019 Surprises That Might Happen

5. Kevin Owens Gets Fired

Now, in no way is this condoning this booking decision. Another Shane McMahon victory over an actual wrestler will not look good, and will frankly be a step backward. And it could very well degrade some of the bad ass aura that Owens has been able to build so far, and the fans have responded well to that so far.

But after Shane cut a promo on all the ways he could win, then the subsequent beat-down afterwards, before he shouted "you are over" at KO, it might go a different direction than you might expect at first glance.

In fact, that beat-down and promo may have given us a clue to a potential finish. With Shane pinning Kevin underneath the announce table, he could very well win via count out. This was one of the ways Shane mentioned (although he basically mentioned all possibilities) and would be a cheap heel way to win. This is the guy who won a cage match via sweaty body, so creative finishes are in his playbook.

Then this could be played off as Kevin Owens coming back to destroy Shane; even after being fired or being forced to quit. Not being allowed in the building hasn’t stopped him yet, so not being employed by WWE (at least in kayfabe) may not either. This could lead to some interesting storylines moving forward after SummerSlam concludes, and hopefully still less Shane McMahon promos.
