7 Biggest WWE SummerSlam 2019 Surprises That Might Happen

3. Ziggler Dominates

Randy Orton WWE Champion

This may seem unlikely, but Dolph has some interesting momentum building. After being Heartbreak Zig the one week, and superkicking Shawn Michaels, his character has developed very well as of late. He also imitated Goldberg this week, coming out to his theme and mocking his entrance. And with his assault on Mysterio before the bell, Ziggler’s recent run is becoming reminiscent of the Legend Killer, Randy Orton.

And let us not forget that Orton kicked his new nickname off with a win over Shawn Michaels at Unforgiven back in 2003. Ziggler going after Michaels, Mysterio, and getting a win over Ali point to him potentially being pushed a similar direction, and his promos point this way as well. This could lead to Goldberg getting a quick loss as opposed to the expected quick win, similar to when Goldberg squashed Lesnar.

A quick roll up or forcing a DQ on purpose could give Dolph some good heel heat and help further his push, but that is becoming a tired trope as of late. These are good ways to let Goldberg shine, and let Ziggler sell some offense from him like he does so well. But if Ziggler can hit a couple of early superkicks, hits some cheap low blows, or even ends Goldberg with a spear, this could really promote Dolph as the new incarnation of the Legend Killer, setting up a potential collision with the old one if he loses to Kofi.

But what if Orton doesn’t lose?
