5. The Macho Man/Stephanie McMahon Rumor Is Probably False
There has been a rumor about Savage that has existed in the wrestling business for nearly 20 years. When Savage left WWE for WCW in 1994 he did so at a time when Vince McMahon couldn't afford to lose another big name. Hulk Hogan already left and WWE business wasn't doing so well, so they needed Savage. From Savage's point of view he likely felt like he was wasted in WWE since he was mostly being used as an announcer. When he got to WCW he became a regular wrestler for the next five years. The rumor that's out there is that Savage may have had a sexual relationship with Stephanie McMahon. It's especially noteworthy because Stephanie would have been 18 years old in 1994 when Savage left, so if anything happened between them it would have been when Stephanie was underage. The story goes that maybe Vince found out that Stephanie had sex with Randy and that's why WWE has ignored Savage so much in the last 20 years. What makes the story possible is that Vince has brought back so many performers that left WWE for WCW and didn't seem to hold a grudge, yet Savage was always on the outside looking in. The assumption is that this has to be the reason why. Chances are the story is false simply because there's nobody that has ever come out to say they saw anything between them. It's just one of those crazy stories in wrestling where if you say it enough people will believe it as the truth even if it's a wild rumor with no way of proving it.
