7 CM Punk WWE Matches You Will Never Get To See

7. Hideo Itami

I'll start with arguably the most obvious. Throughout his WWE career, CM Punk used the Go To Sleep as his finisher, a fireman's carry into a knee to the face that was as brutal as anything seen on WWE TV before. From where did this move come? Well, none other than NXT superstar, Hideo Itami. Formerly known as KENTA, Itami has hinted at using the move during his WWE run so far (doing so once at a live show) but is still to make it a full time part of his arsenal, most probably as WWE doesn't want 'CM Punk' chants breaking out anytime soon. A Punk/Itami match would have been something of a striking fest, but it is difficult to imagine anything less than a top-tier battle between two of the best. The intrigue as to who would be able to put the other away with the GTS would be off the charts.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
