1. Genesis Of Macho King vs. Ultimate Warrior
In what would become one of the best and most emotional stories ever told by the WWE, the "Macho King" Randy Savage feuded with the Ultimate Warrior beginning in the Fall of 1990 and the seeds were planted at the 1990 Survivor Series. Following his short match against Dusty Rhodes at SummerSlam '90, Randy Savage would not actively wrestle on a WWF PPV again until WrestleMania VII in part due to a legitimate wrist injury that required surgery. While he would not compete in the ring at the Survivor Series, this did not stop the Macho King from making an impact. Following The Hulkamaniacs vs. The Natural Disasters elimination match, Savage was interviewed by Mene Gene Okerlund in which he planted the initial seed of a feud against then-WWF Champion Ultimate Warrior. Dressed in red and white with matching bandanna and sunglasses, Savage looked like an absolute star and talked like one too. During the interview, he called himself the greatest WWF Champion ever, as well as the once-and-future Champion before challenging the Warrior for the title. Also during his promo, Macho dropped one of the best lines he would ever recite, a quote that often goes overlooked in the rich history of Macho Man quotes:
"Past, present, and future! Yesterday, today, and tomorrow! I am the greatest superstar ever to step into that squared circle."
Savage's feud with Warrior would continue on the November 23 episode of The Main Event that aired the day after the 1990 Survivor Series when Savage attacked the Warrior during his WWF Championship match against Ted DiBiase. At the Royal Rumble in January '91, Savage would cost the Ultimate Warrior the WWF Championship to Sgt. Slaughter. Warrior had refused to grant Savage a future title match during an interview with Sensational Queen Sherri earlier in the evening. Warrior would eventually settle the score with the Macho King at WrestleMania VII in a Career Ending Match, while Savage would turn babyface and reunite with Miss Elizabeth after the match. Randy Savage and the Ultimate Warrior, along with the help of Sherri and Elizabeth, took part in one of the greatest feuds of all time and it all began at the 1990 Survivor Series.
