7 Dream WWE Matches We Could Still See In 2018

If we’re being brutally honest here, 2018 hasn’t yet been a great year for WWE. We got a great Royal Rumble, a Greatest Royal Rumble, and even a pretty good WrestleMania but, beyond that, not a lot else.

Given that sheer endless talent at the ‘Dub’s disposal though, a lack of genuinely brilliant matches feels almost criminal. With so many men and women capable of putting them on, something’s a miss if we’re not getting them.

But, power of positivity and all that, there are still some instant classics we could still see in this calendar year. Some are continuations of old rivalries, others modern twists on a classic, and some… well, some we never even dreamed we’d see up until now.

7. Daniel Bryan Vs. Shinsuke Nakamura

In late 2004, Daniel Bryan (then known as American Dragon) had a number of tag team matches where, amongst other people, one of his opponents was Shinsuke Nakamura. Some 14 years later, they still haven’t shared a ring together since.

Well, that’s not true, they did, last month, do a dark match at the end of a 205 Live taping. I’ll give you five goes to work out how that ended and you can stick you guesses in the comm… oh, a DQ after a Nakamura low-blow? Ah, you’ve got it in one, fair enough.

Putting a predictably hokey ending to a five minute match only a few thousand people to one side, I think I speak for every person on planet wrestling when I say, they should do this feud for real. If only to properly cement Shinskey Naks as a big old heel.

Y’see, the problem with the Styles feud is that, from a character perspective, he’s someone fans respect rather than adore. It’s hard to get heel heat when your opponent isn’t someone the crowd are protective over. Bryan, on the other hand, would give them the potential for great matches.
