7 Extreme WWE Hell In A Cell Moments You'll Never See Again

7. Slammed Through A Stack of Tables

At SummerSlam in 2008, Edge and the Undertaker let it all hang out in a feud-ending battle inside Hell in a Cell €“ the last cell match before the PPV of the same name was established. They used chairs, tables, ladders and ring steps to obliterate each other. They even ventured outside the cage (courtesy of an Edge spear through the cage itself) to avail themselves of the announce tables. There are a couple spots that stand out as no-nos in today€™s WWE, but the one highlighted here comes toward the end of the match as Edge tries to go Old School, gets crotched and then choke-slammed off the top rope through two tables stacked on the floor. While we still see table spots in hardcore/no-DQ/street fight/extreme rules matches, it€™s highly doubtful that this spot will be repeated in WWE. On the one hand, the double table stack helps cushion the blow of falling 10-12 feet to the floor, there€™s an unpredictability of whether the top table could slide off the bottom one, which could lead to disastrous results. And while WWE still puts on extreme rules matches with high-risk spots, the company has gotten more careful at reducing the inherent risk to more controlled spots €“ hence why fans probably won€™t see these spots again. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uJDWkMRiQnI While it€™s entirely possible that the table stack spot could resurface, it€™s highly unlikely. Then again, we never thought we€™d see an old-school piledriver on Raw again, so never say never.
