7 Famous WWE Royal Rumble Traditions

7. The Ironman

They may be the one to take all the glory, but the winner of the Rumble is very rarely the man who has been in it the longest. In fact, 11 of the 28 victors entered number 27 or later€”meaning that their stints in the match were often among the shortest. To combat this, the Rumble needs guys with the stamina to go the distance and carry the bulk of the match€”in other words, the ironman. In the past, standout candidates for this role have been guys like CM Punk, Chris Jericho, Dolph Ziggler€”talents who are able to put on a show for a sustained amount of time. But as the first of those two will presumably be absent from this year€™s match, it may be time for a new face to step up to the plate. Dean Ambrose is the standout choice here for me. The frequency with which he wrestles€”both on TV and at house shows€”shows that he€™s the WWE€™s go-to when they need someone they can rely on. Expect a solid 45+ minutes from the Lunatic Fringe, and therefore plenty of entertainment.
