7 Impact Slammiversary 2020 Predictions You Need To Know
6. World Tag Team Championships: The North (c) vs. The World's Most Dangerous Tag Team
Maybe one of the oddest matches promoted by Impact, The North face one of the more difficult challenges of their championship reign thus far, as they defend their World Tag Team Championships against the newly-formed World's Most Dangerous Tag Team of Sami Callihan and Ken Shamrock.
Since 5 July 2019, Ethan Page and Josh Alexander have ran roughshod over the doubles division within Impact Wrestling, seeing off all pairings from The Rascalz to TJP and Fallah Bahh to Cody Deaner and Wheels. Heading into Slammiversary, it seemed extremely likely that the Canadian duo wouldn't have any challengers to come end their record-breaking title reign. That was, until they intervened in the business of Ken Shamrock, with his arch-rival Sami Callihan surprisingly coming to the aid of the Hall of Famer.
You could easily argue that Ken and Sami shouldn't lift the titles, seeing as the story between them would far overshadow anything to do with the championships themselves. Nevertheless, having the straps around the waists of two men the caliber of Callihan and Shamrock would easily do wonders to further raise the prestige of Impact's doubles titles. But again, is it the more logical booking decision given the tension between the challengers?
There's a story in it for sure, but it always needs to be more about the championships than the people holding it.
Winners: The North
