World Wrestling Entertainment is where the big bucks are in professional wrestling, and whilst it is obviously an industry one can't be involved in without a whole host of passion it is still exactly that, an industry. The men and women we see risk their bodies on a weekly basis in WWE do so yes, because they love it, but also because it is their job. For a long time wrestling's image has been one of making as much money as possible.

This is changing however. More and more murmurs come out of World Wrestling Entertainment about wrestlers being creatively unfulfilled, of the greatest frustrations coming creatively as opposed to financial.

The fact that individuals are willing to walk away from what is clearly the best financial position to be in in their industry in search of creative fulfilment shows that the almighty dollar may be losing some stroke.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
