7 Incredibly Heated UFC Press Conferences
4. UFC 199 Press Conference
Although then-Bantamweight champ Dominick Cruz reignited his verbal feud with rival Urijah Faber, the back-and-forth barbs between Michael Bisping and Luke Rockhold was nothing short of incendiary.
The main event was originally supposed to be a title fight rematch between Luke Rockhold and Chris Weidman, with the former pulling out due to injury. With no other viable contender available, in stepped the legendary Middleweight in Michael Bisping, who made certain to verbally attack Rockhold in every possible manner.
Rockhold inspirationally illustrated his mindset going to the fight, stating his belief in himself was going to give him the edge in the upcoming bout. In one of the most memorable trash talk segments in the promotion's history, Bisping noted that it all sounded like the worst self-help book ever, before instructing Rockhold to shut up, with an expletive no less.
The now-former Middleweight champion tried to illustrate Bisping as an average bloke, before calling himself a samurai that was going to stomp Bisping out undetected. The proud Englishman blew that remark off, before going off on a tangent as to why Rockhold was inferior to him, as well as being unworthy of the championship. Rockhold cemented his feelings towards Bisping, by saying he was going to close both of his eyes shut, before Bisping retorted by saying he honestly had no ill-will towards him. Which, in its own right, is pretty hilarious, after all that preceded.
The near-forty minute presser was as entertaining as it was demonstrably fiery. Only look to Dana White, smiling throughout the traded insults between the two. Don't worry Dana, most of us were as well.
