7 Major All-Women Wrestling Events Before WWE Evolution

1. WWE Mae Young Classic Finals

During the announcement of Evolution, Stephanie McMahon harped on about the fact it was the "first-ever all women's pay-per-view." Not only is that statement demonstrably b*llocks as this list has proven, but the show isn't even WWE's first all women's PPV. Heck: they did one just last year.

Well, sort of. The Mae Young Classic Finale might have just been a single match, but as a Network special, it was a de facto PPV and one entirely free of male performers. You'd think Stephanie would have remembered Kairi Sane besting Shayna Baszler for the inaugural gong at Paradise, NV's Thomas & Mack Center; after all, she was - inevitably - on hand to hand the winner her trophy.

The past really is putty in the hands of WWE.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
