If ever there was a WrestleMania match waiting to happen, John Cena vs. Samoa Joe is it. The match has been heavily rumoured for the last couple of years, but it has yet to materialise. The latest rumour has Cena taking on The Undertaker at WrestleMania 34. That is undoubtedly a match worthy of the Show of Shows, but the problem is that it is no longer 2014. The ship has sailed on that particular bout.

But that is the direction the company seems to be moving in. Cena is currently booked for Elimination Chamber, and it is unlikely that he will be thrown into the eponymous match. With many of RAW’s top stars being booked in the six-man cage affair, a special singles match will be needed to fill out the card. A Ronda Rousey singles match and Cena vs. Joe will more than suffice.

Samoa Joe’s shoddy luck continued last week with a fresh injury, but the Samoan Submission Machine should be ready and raring to go by the time Elimination Chamber comes around. Cena will pick up the win ahead of a date with the Deadman, as Joe prepares for a shot at the André the Giant Memorial Battle Royal.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
