4. The Cobra Bite

Following a victory on WWE Superstars in October 1991, Jake focused his attention on the commentary booth and called out "You in the orange hat up there". Randy Savage, the only man in the entire arena wearing a bright orange cowboy hat, looked confused before telling his co-commentator Vince McMahon, "He's talking about me!". Roberts went on to call Savage a coward who was "hiding behind the skirt of a woman" and even recommended that Savage borrow Piper's kilt so that he could "hide behind Piper's skirt, too". With that, Savage stormed to the ring, but was quickly caught off guard by Roberts and promptly tied up in the ring ropes. Seconds later, fans were left with jaws on the floor as the Cobra actually latched on to Savage's arm and began to bite. It's still one of the most shocking moments in WWE history. Behind the scenes note: According to Jake, Savage was convinced the angle was a conspiracy to murder him and steal his spot. To prove that the snake had indeed been devenomized, Savage demanded that it first bite Roberts before going out on TV. Roberts agreed and reassured Savage when he didn't drop dead. Savage then instructed Jake to ensure that the cobra held it's bite on him for a long time in order to truly get the angle over, but Macho got more than he bargained for when the snake bit him that Roberts was physically unable to get the cobra off him.
