In news from this week's Wrestling Observer - Jinder Mahal naysayers - i.e., those who prefer to think of wrestling as something that makes the faintest lick of in-universe sense - might want to look away now.

We all know by now that the rocket hasn't been strapped to JInder's back because he's the best or most over wrestler. Of course he isn't. WWE wants to monetise their immense presence in India. As a consequence, Jinder Mahal became WWE Champion after the most sudden and halfhearted of pushes. Mahal as WWE Champion makes even less sense than Jinder Mahal circa September 2016 - the pro wrestler who came in "peace".

Worse still, Meltzer's meticulous research into the Indian market is an ominous sign of things to come - and by "things", we mean a brutally lengthy Jinder Mahal reign. We're going to have to wait until streaming services gain cultural traction in India, so Netflix, get your finger out. Same goes for internet providers, while we're at it; bandwidth in India is, by all accounts, abysmal. Worse than that is the fact that pay-per-views currently air free on Indian TV, which will be the case until at least 2019. So there's no money to be made there yet, either.

Jinder Mahal Vs. John Cena at WrestleMania 34 seems a lock at this point.
