3. Stephanie McMahon Vs. Mick Foley ISN'T Getting A Blow Off Match At WrestleMania!

For months, the tensions between Mick Foley and Stephanie McMahon have been the focal point of WWE’s flagship television programme.

Stephanie has perceived Foley as incompetent for his apparent inability to communicate with the WWE Universe (TM) even though she hired him and presumably carried out due diligence before doing so. On Monday’s episode of RAW, Stephanie shattered the fourth wall by complaining that Foley was unable to read from his script. Stephanie has also blasted Foley for many of his kayfabe decisions, overruling and undermining him at practically every turn.

All this can be forgiven. Gaps in logic and counterproductive scriptwriting is an accepted part of modern WWE TV. Watching a shrill Stephanie demean a bumbling company legend for months has not been remotely entertaining, but few feuds in WWE are. Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens did nothing but exchange rapid-fire punches ad nauseam in their 2016 series, but the matches delivered on pay-per-view. The blowoff to the interminable Foley versus Sephanie dispute, a proxy versus proxy match at WrestleMania 33 for undisputed control of Monday Night RAW, will allow two midcard stars to shine in a high profile outing with legitimate stakes.

Except that of course isn't happening. There will be no such logical resolution. Mick Foley will simply hobble off into the sunset. Hours and hours and hours of television have been wasted because Stephanie McMahon enjoys portraying herself as superior to everybody else.

She's honestly worse for episodic wrestling television than Vince Russo at this point.
