CM Punk's Trainer Denies Insane Steroid Allegations (WWE News)
Trainer passionately speaks out on behalf of the WWE Champion
CM Punk’s trainer has spoken support of the WWE Champion regarding allegations that he's on steroids.
Trainer Jay Ferruggia posted a glowing review of the 'Voice Of The Voiceless' on his Instagram, noting that;
“CM Punk is working his ass off. From day one, when he reached out to me, he has done every single thing that I’ve asked him to do...I have to hold him back. In 30 years in this business, CM Punk is working as hard as anyone I’ve ever worked with. He’s as dedicated as anyone.”
Going further into Ferruggia also addressed the speculation about Punk using steroids directly.
“And you want to sit here and post after post, ‘CM Punk is on steroids,’ blah, blah. Meanwhile, half these pictures are AI, and the other half are from being in the gym with great lighting, with a great pump. He’s gotten significantly leaner, so when you get leaner, you look bigger, and he’s training in a different way. Honestly, he’s making almost newbie gains. So just because someone’s getting somewhere and accomplishing something that you can’t doesn’t mean they are taking shortcuts and cheating.”
Punk returned to WWE on the July 6th edition of Monday Night Raw, turning up a surprise challenger for Sami Zayn's WWE Championship after planned opponent Cody Rhodes was taken out earlier on in the show by Gunther. 'The Straight Edge Superstar' delighted the locals by winning the gold, and delighted body guys by appearing as muscular as he's looked in the last few decades.
He spoke at length in various outlets about his new training regimen with Ferruggia, but appeared to take high profile shot from Nic Nemeth in particular, who posted about "straight edge guys" taking "PEDs" with very little attempt to hide what he was alleging.
