5. Cesaro: Short In The Tooth

At No Mercy, Cesaro suffered an horrific facial injury after Dean Ambrose catapulted him into the top turnbuckle.

That was the intended destination; Cesaro over-shot his trajectory and, as it first appeared, lost much of his front two teeth. Blood gushed out of his mouth like a geyser after being hit with the Slingshot Reverse Kevin Dunn. That was revealed, sickeningly, to not be the case: it emerged that his central incisors had been submerged into his gums. Like the champion of our hearts that he is, the Swiss Superman - words he's more likely to whistle at this point - continued the match. We haven't witnessed a more painful burial than that since Scott Steiner informed Ric Flair that he had more loose skin than a Shar Pei puppy. We at least know what Cesaro wants for Christmas - it's a pity, then, that's he working it. Also insane was that WWE were thrilled with this organic storyline development. They went even more replay-mad.

They couldn't get enough of this extemporaneous, major talking point - so much so that the next night's episode of Monday Night RAW was its usual, slick, über-scripted, fading-in-popularity self.
