7 Outrageous CM Punk Fan Encounter Stories

7. Getting Upset With Annoying Fans At Airports

There was a well documented incident between Punk and a fan in July of 2012 prior to the huge Raw 1000 episode in St. Louis that summer. Apparently a fan went up to Punk in an airport looking for an autograph and Punk said no. Perhaps Punk was getting his bags or busy, so he told the fan no. It's understandable because sometimes a wrestler can't stop if they are going through an airport. The reason this made news was because there were stories of Punk grabbing the man's autograph book and throwing it into a garbage can. Airport security was also brought in to handle the situation. Punk ended up going on Twitter to mention how there was "unacceptable behavior" and how "one person ruins it for everyone." Following the incident, other fans hoping to get Punk's autograph or a picture were commenting on social media about how upset they were that he left without really greeting the fans in a polite way. When you meet a wrestler in an airport you never know what kind of reaction you're going to get. Some of them are really nice and will always be courteous. Others, like Punk, can sometimes be tough to deal with. If Punk felt like he was harassed by this fan then it makes sense that he would want to move away from the situation in the best way possible.
