The New Day have defied expectations and shattered glass ceilings as a tag team trio. This is why it would be utterly devastating to see Big E and Xavier Woods turn on teammate Kofi Kingston now that he is finally WWE Champion.
Seth Rollins turning against The Shield on the 2 June episode of Raw in 2014 established a foundation for devastating betrayals in tag teams built more around brotherhood than partnership. It would be a controversial angle guaranteed to get people talking. It would also be a great opportunity for Big E and Xavier Woods to establish themselves as singles competitors rather than existing in Kingston's shadow.
The New Day have had a fantastic run. They are the longest reigning tag team champions and have proved multiple times that they can deliver on the mic and in the ring. There really isn't much left for them to do together, however. All good things must come to an end and a feud between the former stablemates would make for compelling entertainment. Big E and Xavier Woods could emerge as members of the aforementioned stable of rebellion, turning on Kingston now that he has abandoned them for the spotlight.
