7 Real Reasons Why WWE Fans Don't Watch TNA

4. The Name "TNA" Is Awful

The original reasons why TNA used Total Nonstop Action as their name is because Jeff Jarrett and Vince Russo wanted it to be risqué as a reference to "tits n ass" without actually saying those words. The company started out as a PPV only product, so they figured it would get them some attention by naming it TNA. As the years went on, it became a television product and the name became a hindrance more than anything. There are likely fans out there that are embarrassed to tell somebody they watch the show just because the name really doesn't sound like a family oriented product. It sounds like pornography instead. It's not just the fans that don't like the name. Some wrestlers probably don't like it either. The company is at a point right now where they should probably think about changing the name of the promotion. Calling it just Impact Wresting or even "Total Impact Wrestling" would be smarter for them. Putting the word "wrestling" in the title would probably help because then at least people that don't know the product would have a better idea about what they're watching. On his most recent podcast, WWE Hall of Fame announcer Jim Ross was ranting about how dumb the name was and they should change it because it doesn't sound professional at all. He's right, but it's probably not going to happen.
