4. His Last Match Ended On A Sour Note Due To Injuries

The Rock was supposed to appear on Raw the night after WrestleMania 29. The plan was that Brock Lesnar would come out, attack him with a F5 and that would set up their match at WrestleMania. Instead, The Rock was so hurt from the match with Cena that he didn't even appear on Raw. He flew back home, then they found out that he had a torn groin that needed to be re-attached so he could film Hercules. In other words, the man was in a lot of pain. If there's one thing we know about The Rock it's that he's got a lot of pride. He doesn't want to leave the memory of his last match being one where he got hurt really bad and performed at a level that was below what we were used to from him. It's very possible that part of the reason he wants to have at least one more match is because he wants to go out with a bang instead of whimper that was caused by injury. Guys like him are wired differently than others. He has the kind of drive that is unmatched and that's why he's so successful. There's no way his last wrestling match is going to be one where he was so injured by the end of it that you could tell it pained him just to put a smile on his face. He wants to retire his way, not because of some injury.
