7 Reasons WWE Is Failing To Engage (And 3 Ways To Solve It)

2. Give Me Moments

We need moments. If we’re being honest—truly, deeply honest with each other—we watch wrestling for the moments. We don’t want to miss them. We don’t want to miss Shane McMahon coming back to the company at a Raw in Detroit. We don’t want to miss CM Punk walking out of Chicago and leaving the company with the WWE Championship. We don’t want to miss pipe bombs or Rock promos or the hijacking of Raw by Daniel Bryan. These things make us feel like a kid again, sitting up in our chairs and taking notice.

Daniel Bryan’s run was the last great moment this company had. Yes, there have been others, but none have approached the feel of his run. None have given goosebumps like that since. We need those moments—no, we crave those moments. That’s the real reason we all watch.

But they’ve been less and less of late. WWE Creative seems bent on pushing who they want (Reigns, Strowman, Cena), and ignoring stars who could create not only moments, but subsequent movements. WWE needs to start taking risks with guys and seeing who can create this magic.

And finally, when all else fails…
