7 Reasons WWE Needs A Heel World Champion

6. A Cena Win Would Be Very Disappointing

John Cena is the true face of WWE. You know it, I know it, everybody watching WWE TV knows it and even casual observers that don't watch wrestling probably know it. As a 14 time WWE World Champion he's already the most decorated performer in company history. Ric Flair has more World Title wins than him, but the majority of those happened in NWA/WCW. Cena's the most decorated champion in WWE history. The point that was made about Orton is even truer for Cena. Since the business is erratic right now, WWE may feel the need to stabilize things by putting the gold on Cena and giving him a significant reign in the hopes that it will prevent more money from being lost. A reason why I'm strongly against it is that Cena's been a lot more enjoyable to watch when he's not holding the gold. Let him chase it. Maybe have Rusev enter the match to prevent him from winning as a way to set up a new feud for him. Just don't put the gold on Cena again because we've seen it far too many times in the past. Use this opportunity to do something new. Maybe Cena can chase the new heel champ, but don't put the gold on him at Money in the Bank.
