4. Babyfaces Chasing Champions Are More Entertaining Stories
There's more money in the chase. That's what people in the wrestling business have said for years. If a babyface goes after a heel for months on end before they finally win the WWE Title it will mean more when that person finally wins the gold. Look at Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania 30 as an example. The chase wasn't booked perfectly, but part of the reason the fans wanted it so much is because of the struggle he went through just to get a fair shot at the gold. Once the babyface wins the title, then what? He may fend off the heels for a month or two and then it feels fresh, but after a while it can get pretty boring. If CM Punk's 434 day WWE Title reign didn't have the heel turn in the middle of it then it may have been boring too. It's a challenge to tell entertaining stories with a babyface champion sometimes. If they're dominant then fans may start to boo them (see John Cena) and if they're an underdog like Rey Mysterio then they won't get booked strong during the reign.
