7 Replacements For Hulk Hogan On WWE Tough Enough
5. Jason Albert
Debuting in 1997, Albert's early career saw him try a number of gimmicks including a pierced, possible fetishist in Prince Albert, before teaming up with Test as muscle for Trish Stratus' (T&A), eventually going off on his own as the monstrous A-Train.
From 2005 until 2012 he spent his days in Japan wrestling for All Japan Pro Wrestling and New Japan Pro Wrestling. In 2012, he returned to WWE as Lord Tensai, initially receiving a strong push that included wins over John Cena and CM Punk before again his gimmick got messed with and he fell down the card.
In 2014, Albert moved to NXT as a commentator, eventually retiring from in-ring action and becoming an NXT trainer. When Bill DeMott was moved out of the company, Albert was promoted to interim and eventually permanent head trainer of NXT. He makes a few random appearances on Tough Enough, so it's tough to gauge how much time he spends with the contestants, but he's for sure around enough to see who's excelling at WWE's Performance Center.
As head trainer, he's an obvious candidate to make decisions on the people he could be training in the future. He has the least name recognition thus far, so it's not a big surprise if WWE wanted to keep him more behind the scenes.
