It's pretty simple. Punk quit WWE, the company is really not happy about it since they spent so much time building him up as a main event player and then he just left when he felt like it. They're mad. They may not say it publicly, but that has to be how they feel. Others can step up. Maybe they will. However, losing a top guy like Punk has been a substantial blow to WWE this year. It has gotten to the point where WWE will turn down the crowd volume if a CM Punk chant gets too loud. They don't want to put him over. Nobody blames them for that.
