7 Superstars Whose Gimmicks Started As WWE Fans

2. Mickie James

WWE.comWWE.comIt was September 10, 2005 when Mickie James made her WWE debut. She spent nearly two years in WWE's developmental territory Ohio Valley Wrestling before being called up so when she got the call she was more than ready for it. Raw's most popular diva Trish Stratus was in a tough match with Victoria, which Stratus won. Victoria wasn't done after the match because she kept on attacking Trish. Ashley Massaro attempted to make a save that wasn't successful and then another woman ran in to make the save. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vEPadiwRgw4 The announcers didn't know who the woman was. They had no name for her. They wanted security to get in the ring. They talked as if she wasn't a WWE employee. This woman kicked Victoria out of the ring, hit her in the head with the Women's Title and then gave Trish the title back. Following the match, Trish and Ashley were walking backstage when this woman introduced herself. She said she was Mickie James and she was Raw's newest diva that just signed her contract one week earlier. Mickie told Trish that she is her biggest friend that said she idolized Trish and that she wanted to be just like her. It was a very memorable debut for one of WWE's best divas ever and the start of what is arguably the best women's storyline in WWE history.
