5. AJ Will Not Be Watching From The Audience

For anyone who has tuned into an episode of the documentary series The Evolution of Punk, you've seen that Punk's wife AJ Brooks isn't exactly thrilled with the idea of her husband waging war inside the octagon. She's very hesitant to even watch him spar and is rightfully fearful of his wellbeing once the ref tells them to get it on.

The consensus expectation is that he's going to be soundly defeated, possibly in a very violent fashion, and with that being the case it's understandable that Brooks - AKA former WWE performer AJ Lee - wouldn't want to have an up-close view of the carnage.

According to Punk, he has a different reason to not have his wife sitting in the arena among the fans. He told Helwani:

"We've discussed where she's going to be. She's like 'well, where do you want me?' Because for her to be out in the crowd... she's a familiar face, you know what I mean? I just don't want anybody bothering her, I don't want people yelling junk at her and stupid stuff. That's my wife, obviously, so I'd imagine she'll probably watch it in the back. That's just so she's comfortable. I don't need anybody cat-calling my wife".

That's reasonable, and pro wrestling fans have already shown a propensity for showering the women wrestlers with some inappropriate chants. The last thing Punk needs is a distraction of that nature when he's going to be literally fighting to survive.
