3. Downplaying The Drama Aspect

Helwani gives Punk credit as being one of the best talkers in pro wrestling history and says that while much has been made of his skills in that aspect, he has not made any attempts to use that talent to promote this fight. He says that CM has not been the entertainer but rather himself, and that he thinks some people were hoping he would play up the character.

Ariel wonders if the UFC were hoping he would go that route and acknowledges that he isn't dropping pipe bombs, then asks if he ever felt pressured to do so. Punk says he hasn't and adds that he's sure if he was fighting someone he really didn't like things would probably be different, but he doesn't feel the need to try and force an emotional response out of his opponent or the fans.

"To me it's just a fight. That's all it is".
