7 Things We'll Miss About TNA

5. The Six-Sided Ring

TNA aren't the only wrestling company in the world to use the six-sided ring. AAA of Mexico also use it, and if we're talking of numbers of true influence then AAA are probably bigger than TNA anyway. That isn't the point though.

TNA started using the unorthodox structure in 2004, in an attempt to present an alternative to the squared circle that we all knew and loved. It took some getting used to, but it was different and it was fresh. It made TNA stand out, whether for good or for bad. They stopped using it in 2010 during the Hogan/Bischoff tyranny, before seeing it reprised in 2014.

Variety is the spice of life and all that, and whilst AAA will continue to use the ring, that company just isn't quite as accessible as TNA is. Sure, the hexagonal ring may suck for the wrestlers themselves, but I'm not a wrestler. I'll miss this.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
