7 Things We've Learnt From WWE Network's Tables For 3

6. Kofi Kingston Saw Xavier Woods Trying To Get A Job Years Ago

Xavier Woods' road to the WWE has been a long one. One of the most likeable figures on the roster, his passion for professional wrestling is undeniable. In the second episode of Table for 3, Woods, Big E and Kofi Kingston sit down to talk about the evolution of the New Day and their careers to date. One interesting, not to mention amusing tidbit that comes up is the story of Xavier Woods trying to get a job with WWE years prior. Deep South Wrestling (DSW) was one of the developmental territories at the time, and Kofi Kingston was working there. One day, in strolls Austin Watson (Woods), resplendent in full suit with CV in hand. Watson was asked to wrestle on the next show. A month later, DSW was cut as a developmental promotion. A month later at Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW), the same situation happens. Watson turns up, hands his CV in to someone who may or may not have been Steve Kiern. Nothing came of it at the time, but this all led to Kofi and Watson becoming friends before Watson even made it on to the main roster. The best part is that Kofi then tries to make a positive point about struggling to get there, and indadvertedly insults Big E in the process. It is delightful.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
