7 Times Wrestling Should Have Called An Audible

4. The Undertaker - WWE WrestleMania XXX

The decision to end The Undertaker's Streak at WrestleMania XXX was a strange one.

It was met with widespread dissent because short of crowning them as champion in an age in which titles have been noticeably devalued, it marked the last instantaneous star-making tool WWE had at their disposal. But to play Devil's advocate, what if Mr. Kennedy was chosen to break The Streak in the mid to late 2000s? If his (non-Kurt Angle) TNA matches are any indication, he simply wasn't destined to improve beyond the performer he was at his not inconsiderable - but not exactly incendiary - WWE peak.

Kennedy was so well thought of by McMahon at one point that the thought might even have crossed his mind. Perhaps his subsequent downfall - and the more widespread dearth of new megastars - caused him to nix any plans of having an upstart talent break the Streak, if that was ever the plan.

Irrespective of whether the decision to have established part-time mercenary Brock Lesnar break the Streak was correct in itself, an audible should have been called when it became apparent that the 'Taker had been knocked silly. It was no way for him to go out. The whole thing was as depressing as it was shocking.
