3. When They Do A Ten Bell Salute (Most Of The Time Anyway)
When a WWE employee or alum dies, the company can be truly awful in the way they handle it. The exploitation of Eddies death was one of the worst things Ive seen in twenty years of wrestling fandom, and the whole Owen Hart tribute felt like arse-covering from a company that knew that his death was entirely their fault. But sometimes, just sometimes, they get it spot-on. And when they do get it spot-on, it's usually with a ten bell salute and a well-produced and emotional video package highlighting the life and career of the individual that has passed. Like with Cody Rhodes Bowie face paint, its a tasteful and subtle nod that is emotionally rewarding for fans, and respectful for the deceaseds family.
