2. Undertaker Takes Diesel To Hell During A Championship Match
Bret Hart was defending the WWE Title against The Undertaker at the 1996 Royal Rumble PPV. It wasn't a great match, but it was going along smoothly enough when Diesel decided to show up to interfere to cost Undertaker the match. It was at a time in Diesel's career where he had just turned heel after losing the WWE Title to Hart a few months earlier and he didn't care who he upset. Diesel challenged Hart for the WWE Title at the February 1996 In Your House PPV called "Rage in the Cage" in a steel cage match (duh). The match was just average. Diesel wasn't known for having great matches, although Hart could carry him once in a while. This one just didn't feel that special. At the 19 minute mark, Diesel looked like he had the match won. He came close to crawling out of the cage when suddenly The Undertaker popped out from under the ring, grabbed him by the boot and pulled him under the ring. With commentator Vince McMahon yelling "what is this" during the ordeal, Hart was able to climb out of the cage to win the match and retain the WWE Title. It was the first time that spot had ever done before in WWE and something that we'll never forget.
