7. Vince McMahon Strips John Cena Of The WWE Title Due To Injury - October 2007

John Cena was in the midst of a record €“ breaking run as the WWE champion, which saw him holding the belt for more than a year! Cena was scheduled to wrestle Mr. Kennedy on an episode of RAW, but was injured during the bout when Kennedy executed a hip toss, tearing Cena's pectoral muscle in the process! John Cena was also in the midst of a feud with his arch nemesis, Randy Orton. Vince McMahon then proceeded to strip John Cena of the title and then awarded it to Randy Orton during the opening segment of No Mercy PPV. Orton€™s first opponent was Triple H, who defeated Orton to win the WWE title! The main event of the PPV saw Orton beating Triple H in a Last Man Standing match, and thus winning back the WWE championship. John Cena returned to action during the 2008 Royal Rumble, only to win the Royal Rumble match! He then faced Orton at No Way Out, and won the match by disqualification. Cena was involved in a triple threat match at WrestleMania against Orton and Triple H, a match which Randy Orton won to retain the WWE championship.
