7 Unanswered Questions With WWE's Upcoming Draft
6. Will There Be A Supplemental Draft?
From what it looks like, every draft pick will be made on SmackDown and Raw over the next few days. Even between the two shows, that is a ton of talent to choose from, and it's almost impossible to designate Superstars to one show or the other that quickly.
In the past, that was what the Supplemental Draft was for. It was typically held on WWE's website or the WWE Network (such as in 2016) in the days following the Draft and featured midcarders switching shows. It saved television time but also gave the smaller stars a chance to shine, albeit on a different platform.
The WWE Draft Center that aired immediately following the 2016 WWE Draft was a great way to generate traffic on WWE Network and offer analysis for each pick. Unless something changes, it appears anyone who will be switching shows will be mentioned on the SmackDown and Raw broadcasts, and one can only assume that they'll be rushed through without much (if any) explanation.
WWE would be better off bringing back the Supplemental Draft to ensure no one is left out and all picks feel important.
